I could never find my phone. Right? It blended into whatever environment I had left it in. I could stare right at it and not realize. That I was staring right at it.
“Hmmm,” I said to myself.
“What if . . . a bit of yellow tape . . . and — wait! Not done yet!
“Another bit of yellow tape on the other side!”
It works. My phone now jumps out at me (whichever side is up), as if to say:
“Hey! I’m here! Wanna call somebody? Or check mail? Or Search Something?”
You and your phone will get the hang of it pretty quick, I’ll bet.
Yes, it’s free, to all my Substack subscribers. The innovation. You’ll have to provide your own phone and tape.
Why do you suppose the Substack spelling check marks “Substack” as an error? Should be “substack”? No. “Sub stack”? Really?
But never mind that.
In closing I would like to thank my wife, the artist, Joan Griswold, for her technical support in setting up this posting, with its visual element.
Just the posting. She had no role in the development of the innovation, itself, which I am calling, at least for the moment, “My Own Tech Innovation. (Check It Out)”.

You came up with a good solution. Personally, I can not see black. So I use colorful cases for my keys, hearing aide cases, and phone. And I try to have designated storage areas. If I inadvertently lose any thing, then color helps me find it. Garden tools, too. Yes, it is a strategy for visually challenged people.
Hm. In my situation, that would be problematic because one side is the phone screen. Perhaps your phone case has a little cover for the screen side.
