And the Speaker of the House

The reason America is having so many mass-murders recently, says new speaker of the House Mike Johnson, is simple.

            Young people have been inculcated:  

            “We’ve taught a whole generation, a couple of generations now, that there is no right or wrong, that it’s about the survival of the fittest, and you evolved from the primordial slime."

            He did say "the". Which would imply Johnson is not denying that there was -- even if there shouldn't have been -- a primordial slime. Just that we, or at any rate Republicans, don't come from it.

            Why was no punk band ever called Primordial Slime? Because there are limits. Primordial is a fancy, less-cool-sounding term for original. But nobody wants to call themselves Slime.
